Italian Vineyards

I just finished my work on vineyards which I made quite similar to those in the Fallschirmjägerbook by Battlefront. I used some more sophisticated flocking material so the scenery pieces now look quite realistic for 15mm I think.

How I constructed the tiny vines is fairly visible on the WIP picture. As usual I used fibreboard as a base for my scenery. then I drilled holes in it and put toothpics in it. All you need for finishing the structure is fine wire and some patience.

It actually takes longer to build a vineyard than I expected, since every grapevine was made with wire. I flocked the vines with seafoam and NOCH leaves (Art. 07142 Laub, hellgrün), which is really great for sea foam.

In order to cover our quite big gaming tables I made two vineyards. I do want to have lots of italian scenery since I prefer games in an realistic looking scenery with a lot of cover for the troops.

The vineyards look perfect in combination with the olive farm. I think I will add some other rural scenery e.g. a wheat field or an pine tree row, we will see.

The work on the vineyards took ages but it was fun and I think they will be used for a long time in our club. I need to test if the scenery works for 28mm as well. Maybe there are tiny versions of vines, who knows?

There is some discussion in the Battlefrontforum about the amount of the foliage. Therefore I added some pictures of the vineyards in my home town. These amounts of leaves were in my mind when I built the vines. The picture was taken by my girlfriend and I think both are beautiful :)
