For the first time I experienced that a club comrade painted an whole army because he was inspired by an gaming table. I would like to introduce that outstanding army here and to show you how inspirational projects of others can be.

1st Grenadier platoon with a detailed command team. Note the propaganda poster on the wall.

1st Grenadier platoon with transport mix. Oliver wanted to show the shortage of transports and reduced the amount of vehicles.

2nd Grenadier platoon command. Please note the handmade barbed wire Oliver made for the details.

2nd Grenadier platoon with transports.

Company command with Panzerknacker option and BMW motorcycle with sidecar.

Company command with division insignia on the right of the command stand. The officer wears the Luftwaffe coloured great coat.

Grille Ausführung H, Infantriegeschütz auf Selbstfahrlafette

Grille, with divisional support number recognisable because of the 13..

Since our italian table can be used both for silicy and italy Oliver decided to paint an army which saw action in both theatres. He dediced build an army which is not very popular since the Hermann Göring Division saw much action but almost no victorys. From a painter´s point of view it is very interesting, since the infantry had a very special mixture of Luftwaffe uniforms and Camouniforms.

The Equipment is very intersting, too, since Oliver has chosen only light armoured vehicles as support for his infantry with incredible high firepower. More to be seen in part 2 of this army portrait.

Oliver painted details of the uniform, e.g. Kragenspiegel and Schulterstücke (collar patch and shoulder patch). The command stands even have painted eyes.

The camouflage uniforms are very detailed and have a very realistic look in my opinion. A really excellent work I think, in the next days I will provide more pictures of the remaining vehicles.
