Frankfurt Campaign - FoW Campaign Rules
In our gaming club we just started a FoW campaign called "Rommels Erben". Our club member Azrael wrote a set for the campaign which are easy to follow and nice to play. Read more here.
Azraels first idea was to use the GW Mighty Empires 3D tiles for a campaign map. This was really a nice idea, every wargamer in the club loved to put his army markers on the board.
The design aims were to have very simple rules which focus on interesting games and fun. Once or twice a month there is an campaign turn. During that turn all participants come together chat and move their armys, get reinforcements and chose events. Very funny as I can tell you.
To emphasize our serious efforts to play a realistic campaign we used Beck´s crown corcs with numbers added to find out the turn order.
On the other hand we have chosen Tunisia 1943 as a very interesting theatre with four participating countries to have realistic opponents on the table. Moreover there will be a huge tunisian gaming table in the very near future.
However Cpt. Yossarian was so kind to translate the ruleset in English since he is a native speaker. Thank you for that! During the layout I could see that the English way to express rules is more simple than the german way. You may compare the two versions if you like.
The ruleset is determined to be a living ruleset which means that it is very likely that there will be changes in the near future. We do want to have more events and I would like to include raiding forces and missions. So please feel free to give us feedback.
