I planned this really a long time ago but did not paint it since transports are often useless. Now I hope to add some mobility to my Fallschirmjäger with a full platoon on motorcycles

I almost forgot about the BMW Logo.

In Afrika and Italy every Fallschirmjägerzug has the option to ride on motorcycles. When I first saw FoW miniatures in a local gaming story I was very fascinated of the BMW with sidecar models Battlefront designed.

So I searched for long for an excuse to buy and paint some. Fallschirmjäger often used motorcycles as I saw in many books. The models are a perfect mixture between infantry and vehicles. Vehicles are the special thing with FoW. They simply look extremly good as models.

Unfortunately I had to convert two sets of motorcycles to a Fallschirmjäger version since these are not available by battlefront or any other manufacturer. So I did headswaps with a FJ blister and modeled trowsers and jump smocks. Some of the models were just bent and glued to the motorcycles.

In order to have some variety I glued two stands as if the infantry is just dismounting. The commander was equipped with a Beutejeep, since I only had 12 motorcycles and I forgot in my whole collection to paint some vehicles as aquired from the enemy. Since Fallschirmjäger had not much vehicles available, especially in Afrika, I thought this could be a nice idea.

I am very interested how they will be on the gaming table since the hull mounted MGs could be an very effective way to keep the heads of defending infantry down. The mobility could be interesting too, especially when there are streets on the table. I hope to test it soon with Lemming as an opponent.
