Elephant Diorama

I painted this model by Ebob as a present for my sister. She collects elephants so I decided to build some diorama with it. I built the tree from the scratch.

Not all my painting is connected with wargaming, sometimes I just enjoy a good model. I did this one as a chrismas present. When I painted the model I was surprised how detailed the elephant actually is.

I painted it grey, and drybrushed the model with different shades of grey. After that I washed and inked the model with Vallejo inks, Sepia and Brown, in several steps. Especially the brown washing made the model far more realistic.

This model is really great to build some ancient and exotic scenery as well as a base for an indian war elephant. I am not sure, but I think the race is correct for an carthagian war elephant, too.
