Soon there will be a first come together for a crusader game group in Frankfurt. Therefore I worked again on my basing technic in order to field the troops in Warhammer Ancient battles or Field of Glory. Some new experiences were made with dynamic poses and magnets.

Three new bases for Warhammer Ancient Battles. The base was made with a magnet mat. I added plastic card on top to stiffen the whole thing.

Two magnets were used to fix the model on the base. One is glued to the base, the other one to the model.

Here you can see my solution for the moving models. I just use one foot for the basing technique.

Here three FoG stands are shown. I varied the position of the magnets on the base for those bases who show fast moving models. You can see the different types quite good on the picture.

Another shot from the front. You can see quite good how dense the bases of heavy infantry is crowded in Field of glory.

The next step for me was to build another two stands infantry. I made three Multibases for the usage with Ancient battles and another two for FoG. The next step in my proof of concept was to have a look at dynamic poses i.e. infantry marching forward.

Since the magnets are limited in space I decided to cut the white metal bases completely off. I glued them on the magnets using greenstuff and super glue. It worked quite good so far and I was able to glue just one foot to the magnet in the case of marching models.

One very curious thing I experieced was, that the magnetism is that strong, that it was impossible to put the three bases next to another. The magnetism left a gap between the bases aproximatly 3mm wide. Therefore I had to glue the magnet in two different ways in order to have a neutral magnetized base. Therefore there will be two kinds of models plus and minus magnetized ones.

The next step will be to have a look at options for cavalry.
