Airbrushing in the living room
I do use my airbrush for priming, sealing and in some cases for painting e.g. tank models. Now I do not need to brush it outside any more since I bought a great piece of equipment.
During my search for Marmite I found a really great shop in Frankfurt for painting and airbrushing stuff Farbton Frankfurt. Update: The shop is moving to darmstadtand is currently only available via internet. I talked a lot to Heiko, the owner, and he showed me a ectraction hood for airbrushing. Although the thing was not cheap I bought it since I really want to paint on my desk. 170 Euro is quite a lot for that, but I have seen Heiko´s really old airbrush air cleaner so I was sure, that this product will live for long. Yesterday I tried it and primed some models on my desk. The extraction hood has an activated carbon filter for paints with dissolver and a filter for dried paint particles in the air.
It worked excellent, almost every paint in the air was removed and it did not smell although I used Tamiya paint with dissolver. The hood is quite silent I could listen to my radio without disturbing my girlfriend too much.
Those guys for you who already invested much in airbrush equipment may like to know the product´s name: It is an air cleaner 3584/3585 by aircom an italian company.
If you are interested either, please support my local dealer, since currently there is much competition among the paint suppliers. Farbton Frankfurt ist really a nice Shop with much experience and Vallejo Air Colours! Currently the air cleaner is not in the online shop, so just contact via phone or email. Farbton Frankfurt / Format Darmstadt The acryl cover can be closed, the left and right metal covers can be removed. I think sealing and priming will take place more often in the next months!
